Baby Photography – Martina and her first magazine cover

Our little baby Martina (yes this model is actually our daughter) turned 1 year yesterday so I couldn’t help but post some of her photos. The weather is getting warm which means that it is a great time for any baby photoshoots, or toddler, children sessions. Little babies don’t like studio lighting so warm sun is the best light possible which makes those little ones looking just amazing. These photos were taken when she was around 4 months old. I recommend everyone to take little bit for baby photos until they are 3 months old to 5 months old. They open they eyes easily, smile and communicate little bit. You get their personality right through the lense and you will be able to keep those memories forever with their photos. One of her photos made it on the cover of December Issue “Irish Parent” national magazine. Take a look.

Seductive Green – Glamour & Boudoir Photoshoots

I receive many emails requesting Glamour & Boudoir Photoshoots where I read: “I am new to modeling, I don’t know how to pose”. As some of you already read my biography, I used to model myself for some time… well… 15 years in total. You don’t need to be a great poser to get the stunning shot. It is all about mood, relaxation and also listening to the photographer. The way I work with models or new faces is that I let them first show me little bit how they can move and what expressions they are doing. Then, I slowly take over and I lead them into what I am looking for through camera lens. I know very well how difficult it is for model to know if she is showing off the right parts or the right expressions. She doesn’t have a mirror in front of herself. It is up to the photographer to lead her through. I do concentrate on showing off the nicest parts. If someone has slim waist, long legs, nice back or pretty smile, I lead her to give me the poses which look the best in photos. If the model listens well, she gets beautiful shots.

Let me introduce you IONA, one of the Toronto models I work with on regular basis. She is established model, excellent poser and also makeup artist/ hair stylist. I can honestly tell you that she can move and give you one pose by one without any problems. I like that she poses well, but this time I wanted to see her differently. I wanted her to give me her relaxed mood… How did I pull it out of her? We shot for few hours until we both were quite tired. My camera is heavy so my arms were stretched all the way…lol. Then, we sat down on the floor and just started talking about life and how is everything going for both of us. IONA relaxed, started talking, listening… Here and there, I took a shot while giving her a bit of direction. We got excellent shots, my favorite set of hers by far… and one of the photos appeared on the front cover of book “Vampire Romance” which you could see in the stores this year.

Modeling testing with Alicia

Many women are trying to get into modeling business. Once in a while I have in my studio someone special with a very unique look. Her name is Alicia and she is a fresh face in modeling world. Our modeling testing was her first shoot she did and I must say I was extremely pleased and impressed. She has very strong look and beautiful facial features. I can see her being represented by top agencies such as Elmer Olsen, Next or even Ford. Let’s keep fingress crossed for her…. Here are some of my very favorite shots from our modeling session.

Family Shoot – Tatiana, Olin, Natalia, Alec

I am sitting home right now, drinking hot tea…. and thinking about yesterday’s fall shoot. It was really cold and windy. And…. I was dressed quite warm. This family which I shot must have been frozen by the time we finished. I kept asking if they are OK. They always smiled back at me responding: “Sure, we are!” Let me introduce you: Tatiana, Olin, Natalia and Alec. This family of four has lots of energy, smiles, humour, love and strong family ties. I am sure you can see all that in their photos. Our shoot went by very fast. I chose locations very close together since the sun was disappearing very quickly. All I have to say… Thank you for a great shoot, thank you for being such a sport. You gave it all and it was well worth it!!!

Glamour Portfolio – How to choose images?

Four days ago, I was going through my DVDs and I was completely lost. I wanted to Fashion and Glamour portfolios and honestly I didn’t know where to start. I have over 10,000 photos in my library so it is kind of difficult. So I started narrowing them down until I came to my final favorite shots… four days later.

How to choose images or what images to choose?I get this question often from models and clients. When we are done with a shoot I provide DVD with all photos and there are 100s of them and generally at least half of the shots are great. Each person likes something else. There is really no rule in choosing favorite shots. To answer you question how to choose images? The best thing is to narrow images down until you end up with your favorite ones. What I am looking for is making sure they are all different. Headshot, beauty shot, the whole body, sitting down, standing up…. I am looking for just mix of everything. I also look for expressions, poses and lighting.

Here is first batch of my favorite glamour portfolio photos. My Glamour & Boudoir Photoshoots Portfolio is mix of bikini, swimsuit, lingerie, dresses and other outfits. My view on my images was to like them myself and also general public….

Glamour Portfolio – What is Glamour?

Second part of my Glamour & Boudoir Photoshoots Portfolio is here. What is Glamour & Boudoir Photoshoots to me? There are many photography articles on the internet describing what glamour really is. To me, Glamour is “pretty, sophisticated, elegant, sexy” I like to mix it all together to get photos which make me say, Wow… she is pretty, this is great shot. Women of all ages come to me to get photos for themselves or their husbands, boyfriends, family far away… or just for fun. They can wear dress, swimwear, lingerie, accessories, costumes, casual outfits… just anything. With proper hair and makeup… the result at the end will be pretty… I do listen to them and we both figure out what we want to echieve. Some want more sophisticated and reserved. Others want sexy and provocative. …
